A criminological portrait of a collaborating educator

Abstract

The article makes an attempt to build a criminological portrait of a collaborator educator based on the official statistical data, primarily, the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine on the qualitative characteristics of convicted persons, as well as final court decisions (sentences) passed by the courts of Ukraine under Part 3 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The socio-demographic block of the criminological portrait of a collaborator educator includes the following characteristics gender (mostly women (79% of those convicted of educational collaboration), age (mostly persons aged 30-65 (90% of all convicts), citizenship (always a citizen of Ukraine), social role (usually a person of working age who has not studied or worked anywhere (35% of convicts), and in the case of a labor function – a person who worked as a teacher (19% of convicts)), education (mostly a complete higher education (43 persons or 83% of convicts). The moral and psychological block covers such motivational factors of a collaborator educator as ideological beliefs, material gain, opportunism and careerism, and the psychological traits of a collaborator educator include his/her conformism, alienation from Ukrainian identity, lack of a moral core, cynicism and pragmatism. Taking into account the criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which are conducted mainly in absentia, the criminal law block allows us to establish that a collaborator educator is mainly a person who committed the crime on his/her own and has not been previously prosecuted.

The criminological portrait of a collaborating educator, taking into account the blocks discussed, is as follows: a woman, a citizen of Ukraine aged 30-65, who was able-bodied, but does not study or work anywhere or works as a teacher in educational institutions, has a complete higher education, motivational factors such as ideological beliefs, desire for material gain opportunism, and careerism, as well as psychological traits such as conformism, alienation from Ukrainian identity, lack of a moral core, cynicism, and pragmatism, and committed the crime on her own and has not been prosecuted before.
