PROBLEMS OF RESOCIALIZATION PROGRAMS IMPLEMENTATION FOR PRISONERS IN CONDITIONS OF SERVING THE SENTENCE

Abstract

The article considers the penitentiary system in the context of solution of resocialization tasks regarding the prisoners. It is noted that provision of professional approach to the formation and implementation of resocialization programs is important, where individual approach to prisoners should be definitely considered.

The attention is drawn to the fact that there are some problems in solving the correction tasks of prisoners’ behavior under conditions of dissonance in provision of insulation and resocialization functions of penitentiary institution. In this regard, the focusing is needed on creation of appropriate psychological environment to overcome internal protest of convicted person related to limitation of his freedom. The emphasis is also done on ensuring appropriate conditions of resocialization impact, when the gap in the moral and spiritual relation with the external social environment would have been reduced. Also the importance of acquiring confidence among prisoners in the implementation process of resocialization programs is emphasized, since a positive result can be achieved only through the consent of convicted person to cooperation.

The article draws attention to the fact that additional obstacles in achieving of resocialization impact are the mode and order of prisoners’ life activity regulated by specific specialized institution. Therefore the works on achievement of external pressure minimization and provision of assistance in arrangement of prisoners’ personal activity have to be conducted. An important factor in raising the confidence of convicted person to resocialization educators is enabling the realization of a sense of justice.

The article proves that good results of resocialization impact are achieved in terms of humane treatment of prisoners, since a punishment of imprisonment should not carry any additional loads, except of those important for the implementation.
