У статті досліджено місце судового захисту конституції як особливої форми правозахисної функції сучасної держави. З’ясовано етапи еволюції судового конституційного контролю та зазначено ознаки його основних моделей. Зроблено висновок, що розвиток централізованої системи судового захисту конституції (кельзенівської моделі) є провідною тенденцією в цій сфері і однією з тенденцій розвитку конституціоналізму в ХХІ столітті.
