Purpose and objectives of the publication

The scholarly professional journal Bulletin of the Penitentiary Association of Ukraine is a peer-reviewed academic publication aimed at advancing legal research. It focuses, in particular, on the theoretical analysis of the current state of legal science and practice, the study of legal phenomena and scholarly concepts that influence jurisprudence, law enforcement, and legal practice, as well as the development and implementation of scientific and applied recommendations in the activities of public and private authorities and institutions.

One of the journal’s priorities is the study of state criminal policy, including penal (criminal-executive) policy, with a view to improving law enforcement activities, as well as the application of achievements in legal and related sciences to enhance the effectiveness of governance in the activities of public and private institutions in this field.

 

Purpose of the Journal

The journal aims to:

  • disseminate the results of relevant scientific research (both theoretical and applied);
  • foster academic discourse on contemporary issues of law enforcement and legal regulation;
  • promote the implementation of research findings into practice;
  • integrate Ukrainian legal scholarship into the international academic community;
  • ensure adherence to the principles of academic integrity at all stages of the editorial and publishing process.

The journal operates under an open access model, providing free and unrestricted access to published materials.

Main Objectives of the Journal

 Ensuring Scientific Communication

  • publication of research findings by Ukrainian and international scholars and practitioners;
  • promotion of the exchange of scientific ideas, methodologies, and practical experience;
  • dissemination of dissertation research results in accordance with the principles of academic integrity and international publication ethics standards.
  1. Addressing Current Scientific Challenges
  • identification and analysis of pressing issues in criminology, criminalistics, forensic science, and judicial studies;
  • development of scholarly approaches to addressing these issues in light of contemporary challenges in law enforcement practice.

  • preparation of scientifically grounded recommendations for improving legislation;
  • enhancement of the effectiveness of forensic institutions and judicial bodies;
  • support for the implementation of innovative approaches in legal practice.
  1. Integration into the International Academic Community
  • ensuring compliance of editorial policy with international standards (including those of the Committee on Publication Ethics – COPE);
  • indexing of the journal in international scientometric databases, repositories, and catalogs;
  • increasing the visibility and citation impact of scientific publications;
  • fostering international academic cooperation.
