Some legal issues of organic food production as a factor of ensuring its quality and safety

Abstract

The article is devoted to the actual problem of legal support for organic production as the most effective factor in the quality and safety of food products, in particular, the production of organic agricultural products. The relationship between the quality and safety of food products and the preservation of a healthy genotype of the nation and a favorable environment for future generations is revealed. Paired categories of safety and quality of agricultural products are derived, the ratio between them is determined. The current legislation in the field of ensuring the quality and safety of food products is analyzed, and the conflict of the mechanism of legal regulation introduced by it is pointed out. Attention is drawn to the loss of the importance of state control in the field of compliance with the quality and safety of food products due to the actively implemented deregulation of business conditions. The directions of real threats to the health of the population of our country from the use of low-quality and dangerous food products, in particular from the wide use of palm oil in the food industry and transgenic products in agricultural production, are made, and the necessary proposals are made to improve the relevant legislation. Some shortcomings of the legislation regarding organic production, circulation and labeling of organic products are revealed.
