Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • This article was previously not published and not submitted for review and publication in another journal (or given an explanation for this in the Notes to Editors).
  • File sent articles presented in OpenOffice document format, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect.
  • Items have full Internet address (URL) for the links where possible.
  • Text typed with one and a half line spacing; used font type size of 14 points; to highlight the use italics rather than underlining (except in URL-addresses); all illustrations, graphics and tables are located at appropriate places in the text, rather than at the end.
  • Text meets stylistic and bibliograph requirements described in the Guidelines for Authors.

Attention authors!

The journal «Bulletin of the Penitentiary Association of Ukraine» is a research edition of the Public organization «Penitentiary Association of Ukraine» and private institution «Scientific research Institute of public law». According to the Decree of the Presidium of Higher attestation Commission of Ukraine «About increase of requirements for professional publications included in the lists of Higher attestation Commission of Ukraine» dated January 15, 2003 № 7-05/1, in particular, scientific articles must contain such necessary elements: formulation of the problem in general and its connection with important scientific or practical tasks; analysis of recent researches and publications which initiated solving this problem, and in which based the author, the selection is not resolved before the general problem which is dedicated to the designated article; formulation of the objectives of article (setting tasks); description of main material of research with full justification of scientific results; conclusions from this study and prospects for further research in this direction.

Together with the manuscript is represented its electronic copy. The volume of articles up to 12-15 pages of text on A4 size paper 1,5 interval, font 14-PT. Electronic versions of figures and tables are submitted as separate files in A5 format. References in the text should be in square brackets, indicating page numbers of the corresponding source. For example: [1, p. 235] or [2, p. 8; 3, p. 45; 9, 20]. The list of used sources is represented at the end of the article in order of appearance of references in the text, according to international and state standards. Articles submitted with violation of these requirements will not be accepted for publication.

The abstract should be submitted in Ukrainian, in English (one page) together with keywords. The length of the abstract should be at least 1,800 characters (250–300 words). Title of the article and information about authors (surname, name and patronymic (fully), academic degree, academic title, position, home and office phone numbers) are represented in Ukrainian and English.

The manuscript is attached (on a separate sheet): information about the author (or authors): place of work (office), job title, postal address, telephone, and e-mail address for correspondence and arrange publication.

Articles submitted to the journal published in author's edition. For the reliability of facts, quotations, statistical data and other information, and the absence of the article borrowed materials without reference to the source author is responsible.

The fee for publishing an article (Article processing charge, APC) is 1200 UAH (for an article up to 12-15 pages). If the volume of the work exceeds the limit, the cost of an additional page is 30 UAH.

In order to support the development of domestic science, applicants for the third level of higher education, budget form of training, provided that they submit articles written by them alone (without co-authors), are exempted from any payment (contributions for the publication of the article) for processing, review and/or publication. The author additionally submits to the editorial office an extract (copy) from the order on enrollment in studies under the budget form of training, certified in the established procedure.

By decision of the editorial board, in individual cases, other authors (participants of hostilities, persons with disabilities as a result of war, talented students, etc.) may be exempted (in whole or in part) from payment (contributions for the publication of the article) for processing, review and/or publication.

Authors receive details for paying the publication fee after passing the internal anonymous review of the work.
