Open Access Policy
- General Provisions
The scholarly journal “Bulletin of the Penitentiary Association of Ukraine” operates under an Open Access model, ensuring free, immediate, and permanent access to all published materials.
The Open Access policy is based on internationally recognized principles, including:
- Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI);
- Bethesda Statement on Open Access Publishing;
- Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge.
- Open Access Terms
All journal materials are freely accessible to readers without registration.
Users are permitted to:
- read, download, and store materials;
- copy, distribute, and print full-text articles;
- use materials for scientific, educational, and other lawful purposes;
- provide links to full-text articles.
No prior permission from the author or publisher is required, provided that proper citation practices are followed.
- Licensing Terms
All publications are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
This entails:
- retention of copyright by the authors;
- granting the journal the right of first publication;
- free use of materials provided that:
- authorship is properly acknowledged;
- the original source is cited;
- academic integrity is maintained.
- Use of Copyrighted Materials
Journal materials may be used:
- in scientific research;
- in educational activities;
- in publications with proper citation;
- in open electronic resources.
The following are prohibited:
- use of materials without proper attribution;
- distortion or misrepresentation of content;
- use in violation of applicable law.
- Self-Archiving and Dissemination
Authors have the right to:
- deposit their publications in institutional repositories;
- disseminate articles via academic platforms and social networks;
- use the materials in their own scholarly activities.
Mandatory condition:
- inclusion of a full bibliographic reference and DOI.
- Access to the Archive
Full-text articles are available:
- on the official journal website (Archives);
- in open repositories;
- in national libraries and scientific databases (Vernadsky National Library).
Article metadata (title, authors, abstract, keywords) are openly accessible and used for indexing purposes.
- Guarantees of Accessibility
The journal ensures:
- permanent access to published materials;
- preservation of content regardless of technical changes;
- openness and accessibility of research results.
- Responsibilities of the Parties
- Authors — responsible for the originality and reliability of materials;
- Users — responsible for compliance with terms of use;
- Editorial Office — responsible for ensuring open access and protection of copyright.
